To provide maximum traction and stability on all roads, All-Wheel Drive is standard on the Charger. But it costs extra on the Polestar 2.

Both the Charger and the Polestar 2 have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, driver knee airbags, side-impact head airbags, front and rear seatbelt pretensioners, four-wheel antilock brakes, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, crash mitigating brakes, daytime running lights, lane departure warning systems, blind spot warning systems, rearview cameras, rear cross-path warning, driver alert monitors and available around view monitors.

The Dodge Charger weighs 1124 to 1334 pounds more than the Polestar 2. The NHTSA advises that heavier cars are much safer in collisions than their significantly lighter counterparts.

Dodge’s powertrain warranty covers the Charger 1 year and 10,000 miles longer than Polestar covers the 2. Any repair needed on the engine, transmission, axles, joints or driveshafts is fully covered for 5 years or 60,000 miles. Coverage on the Polestar 2 ends after only 4 years or 50,000 miles.

There are almost 78 times as many Dodge dealers as there are Polestar dealers, which makes it much easier should you ever need service under the Charger’s warranty.

J.D. Power and Associates’ 2024 Initial Quality Study of new car owners surveyed provide the statistics that show that Dodge vehicles are better in initial quality than Polestar vehicles. With 15 fewer problems per 100 vehicles, JD Power ranks Dodge higher than Polestar.

The Charger has more powerful engines than the Polestar 2:

The Charger Daytona R/T Coupe w/20" Wheels can travel longer on a full charge than the Polestar 2 Single Motor 20" Wheels (308 miles vs. 307 miles).

The Charger Scat Pack’s launch control uses engine electronics to hold engine RPM’s precisely in order to provide the most stable and rapid acceleration possible, using all of the available traction. The Polestar 2 doesn’t offer launch control.

For better traction, the Charger Daytona Scat Pack Coupe’s optional tires are larger than the largest tires available on the Polestar 2 (F:305/35R20 & R:325/35R20 vs. 245/45R19).

The Charger offers an optional heads-up display that projects speed in front of the driver’s line of sight, allowing drivers to view information without diverting their eyes from the road. The Polestar 2 doesn’t offer a heads-up display.

To shield the driver and front passenger’s vision over a larger portion of the windshield and side windows, the Charger has standard extendable sun visors. The Polestar 2 doesn’t offer extendable visors.

The Charger has a standard heated steering wheel to take the chill out of steering on extremely cold winter days before the car heater warms up. A heated steering wheel costs extra on the Polestar 2.
